1. Guinness Storehouse

Of all the things to do and see in Dublin this attraction is of course proving the most popular with visitors to it. If you spend time here you get to learn everything about this beer which is world famous and has been produced for 250 years. Following your tour around the storehouse you then head to The Gravity Bar where you have the opportunity to sample a pint of this for free.

2. Kilmainham Gaol

This Gaol was built in 1792 and throughout its history housed many prisoners until 1924 when it was closed. Today it is now considered to be Ireland’s most famous disused prison. In 1798 it housed members of the Society of United Irishmen, whilst in the 1840′s it was home to Fenians and Land agitators such as Parnell and Davitt. Also this is where leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising were executed. If you want to learn more about the history of Irish Republicanism then this is the place to visit.

3. Dublin Castle

Is now the city’s oldest surviving structure and was constructed between 1208 and 1220. For more than seven centuries it was the centre of English power in Ireland until 1922 when the Irish Free State took it over. 5. Dublinia

The exhibits allow you to learn more about the time in the 12th Century when Anglo Normans were living here as well as more about why the monasteries in Ireland were forced to close in the 1540′s.
